School Charism

A charism is a gift from God in the form of a message to one person about how to show one of the characteristics of Jesus. That person then gathers people around them so they can figure out how to work out the message in world. Our Lady of the Assumption School has 2 Charisms.

St Mary Euphrasia Pelletier

Our first charism is from the Sisters of the Good Shepherd who were the first teachers at our school.

Their charism was...

to look after children who were in need of care, like the Good Shepherd who looks after his sheep.

The founder of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd was St Mary Euphrasia Pelletier.

St Mary Mackillop

Our second charism is from the The Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.  They were the second teachers to come to Our Lady of the Assumption School.  Their charism was ...

to show the love of the Sacred Heart in the way they taught the children under their care.

The founder of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart was St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
